Areliz O. Barbosa is a single mother who identifies as Christian and Latina. She is a Certified Community Health Worker and graduated from Springfield College in 2020 with a Bachelor in Science and Human Services. She identifies as a trauma survivor and has a unique way of incorporating her lived experience with her advocacy skills to address the inequalities within our system. She has worked as a community health worker for 20 years. Her mission in life is to advocate against any unjust treatment and believes that all individuals are entitled to be treated with dignity and respect regardless of education, social class, race, gender identity, religion, mental health, and/or addiction status. Her most current role is Social Media Director for City Councilor Zaida Govan and Campaign Manager for Mayoral Candidate Orlando Ramos.
