In March 2026, we had a familiar face on the show InFocus on Focus Springfield. Our very own Deputy Director Lezlie Braxton Campbell sat down to discuss the power of our work: who Neighbor to Neighbor is, where we’ve been, and the bold vision we are carrying into our future.

This interview comes at a monumental moment for our movement. This year, Neighbor to Neighbor is officially celebrating 30 years of building community power (1996–2026).

Thirty Years of “Us”

Since our start in 1996, N2N has operated on a simple but radical premise: those closest to the ground should be closest to the power. As Braxton highlighted on InFocus, we aren’t a traditional top-down organization. We are a multiracial, working-class engine for change. From our early days of increasing voter engagement by 400% in neglected neighborhoods to our recent $10M victory for tenants at Springfield Gardens, our story is written by neighbors who invest in community power!
